> New safety and environment standard for biogas installations

In February 2014 a Dutch standardization project for biogas installations has started. On 12 February 2014 the Dutch normalization institute NEN organized an information meeting for interested parties.

The idea is to develop standards regarding safety & environment for biogas installations, under which fermenters, manure conversion installations and biogas upgrading installations for production of green gas, compressed bio gas (CBG) and liquefied bio methane (LBM or bio-LNG).

Commercial and nonprofit organizations were offered the opportunity to register themselves in order to participate in one of the commissions for development of these standards.

The development of these standards was a consequence of a Green Deal with the Dutch government in which amongst others NGGM participates.

It was decided to start with a so called NTA standard for safety & environment requirements for biogas installations on a farm scale. A commission has been established which is working on the draft text for this NTA.
